Allium Bulbs - How to Sow
- Alliums are Summer flowering bulbs
- They require a sunny location
- Sowing time: Autumn
- Sowing Depth: Approx. 2 - 4 inches deep
- Sow with pointed end pointing upwards
- Prepare planting hole using a bulb planter
- Space allium bulbs 10cm to 15cm apart
- If soil is not well draining then add a small amount of sand to base of hole
- Fill in hole with soil
- Water well & feed once foliage appears
- Cut back foliage once flowering has passed and leaves have wilted
- Lift & divide bulbs every 4 or 5 years
