Bio Narcissus Botanical Mixed Bulbs 8 Pack

Bring natural charm and early spring colour to the garden with Bio Narcissus Botanical Mixed. This selection of botanical Narcissus offers a varied display of smaller, naturally styled daffodil flowers, making it ideal for informal planting schemes and wildlife-friendly gardens.

Botanical Narcissus are generally more compact than many traditional garden daffodils and are particularly effective when planted in groups. This 8 pack can be used in borders, rockeries, containers or naturalised through lawns and informal grassed areas.

Characteristics

  • Plant: Narcissus
  • Type: Botanical Narcissus
  • Selection: Mixed
  • Pack Size: 8 bulbs
  • Flowering Period: Early to mid spring
  • Growth: Compact and natural looking
  • Uses: Borders, rockeries, containers, lawns and naturalising

Where to Plant

Plant botanical Narcissus in a sunny or lightly shaded position with well-drained soil. They are particularly attractive towards the front of borders, in rockeries and beneath deciduous trees and shrubs.

Their compact nature also makes them well suited to containers and patio pots. Plant several bulbs together to create a fuller spring display.

How to Plant

Plant the bulbs in autumn, with the pointed end facing upwards. Choose fertile, well-drained soil and plant the bulbs at approximately two to three times their own height. Space bulbs according to their size, generally around 8 to 10cm apart.

For natural-looking displays, plant bulbs in informal groups rather than straight lines. In containers, use good-quality bulb or multipurpose compost and ensure there is adequate drainage.

Growing and Care

Water after planting if the soil is dry. Once established, Narcissus are relatively low maintenance and can return year after year in suitable growing conditions.

After flowering, remove the spent flowers if desired but leave the foliage in place until it has naturally yellowed and died back. The leaves allow the bulbs to replenish their energy reserves for the following season.

Naturalising

Botanical Narcissus are excellent for informal and naturalised planting. Plant groups through lawns, grassed areas or beneath deciduous trees for a relaxed spring display that can become more established over time.

Planting Ideas

Combine with crocuses, snowdrops, muscari and other early spring bulbs for a succession of seasonal colour. Their natural appearance also makes them a good choice for cottage gardens, rockeries and informal borders.
