Bio Narcissus Botanical Minnow Bulbs 8 Pack

Narcissus Minnow is a charming miniature botanical daffodil, valued for its delicate flowers and compact growth. Its attractive blooms feature soft white petals surrounding a small yellow trumpet, creating a cheerful early spring display.

This Bio 8 pack is ideal for planting in groups to create a natural-looking display. Its smaller size makes it particularly suitable for rockeries, the front of borders, containers and naturalising in lawns or informal grassed areas.

  • Plant: Narcissus
  • Variety: Minnow
  • Type: Botanical Narcissus
  • Pack Size: 8 bulbs
  • Flower Colour: White with yellow trumpets
  • Flowering Period: Spring
  • Growth: Compact and miniature
  • Uses: Borders, rockeries, containers, lawns and naturalising

Where to Plant

Plant Narcissus Minnow in a sunny or lightly shaded position with fertile, well-drained soil. Its compact habit makes it particularly effective at the front of borders, in rockeries and beneath deciduous trees and shrubs.

It is also an excellent choice for containers and patio pots, where the small flowers can be appreciated at close range.

How to Plant

Plant the bulbs in autumn, with the pointed end facing upwards. Choose a well-drained position and plant the bulbs at approximately two to three times their own height. Space the bulbs around 8 to 10cm apart, or plant closer together in containers for a fuller display.

For natural-looking planting, arrange bulbs in informal groups rather than straight rows. When planting in containers, use good-quality bulb or multipurpose compost and ensure adequate drainage.

Growing and Care

Water after planting if conditions are dry. Once established, botanical Narcissus are generally easy to grow and can return year after year in suitable conditions.

After flowering, remove spent flowers if desired but leave the foliage in place until it has naturally yellowed and died back. The leaves allow the bulbs to replenish their energy reserves for the following season.

Naturalising

Narcissus Minnow is well suited to informal and naturalised planting. Plant groups through lawns, grassed areas or beneath deciduous trees to create a relaxed spring display.

Planting Ideas

Combine Minnow with crocuses, snowdrops, muscari and other early spring bulbs for a succession of colour. Its miniature proportions make it especially useful in rockeries, alpine-style planting, cottage gardens and the front of mixed borders.
