Where to Plant
Plant Tulip Triumph Red in a sunny position with fertile, well-drained soil. Good drainage is particularly important during winter, as tulip bulbs can struggle in waterlogged conditions.
Plant groups towards the front or middle of borders for a bold spring display. They are also well suited to containers placed around patios, entrances and seating areas.
How to Plant
Plant tulip bulbs in autumn, with the pointed end facing upwards. As a general guide, plant bulbs around two to three times their own height deep and approximately 10 to 15cm apart.
When planting in containers, use good-quality bulb or multipurpose compost and ensure the container has adequate drainage. Plant several bulbs together for a fuller display.
Growing and Care
Water after planting if conditions are dry. During spring, water during prolonged dry periods, particularly when tulips are grown in containers.
After flowering, remove spent flowers if desired but allow the foliage to remain until it has naturally yellowed and died back. The foliage helps replenish the bulb's energy reserves for the following season.
