Bluebell Bulbs - How to Sow

- Choose a partially shaded or lightly sunny planting location.
- To prepare planting hole:
- Use a garden hand trowel, dibber or bulb planter.
- Depth: Approximately 8cm - 10cm deep.
- Spacing: 10cm - 15cm apart.
- Soil: Moist, fertile and well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Improve heavy soils with compost or horticultural grit before planting.
- Plant bulbs with the pointed end facing upwards.
- Cover with soil and firm gently.
- Water thoroughly after planting if the soil is dry.
- Feed with poultry manure or a balanced fertiliser once new growth appears.
- Allow foliage to die back naturally after flowering so the bulbs store energy for the following season.
- Leave bulbs undisturbed to naturalise and create increasingly impressive spring displays.
