Paper Briquette Log Maker - How to Use
- Store up old newspapers (You can shred them by hand)
- Soak paper in a bucket of water (Use a rubbish bin for high volume production)
- Allow pulp to form, might take a few days but as long as the paper has broken down somewhat, it will be OK from our experience)
- Leaving it overnight will probably suffice and adding a spoonful of bleach to the mix will help speed it up
- Remove the condenser plate
- Place pulp into the briquette maker central chamber, making sure not to over fill
- Simply pull the handles down to squeeze the compacting plate over the pulp
- Don't over do it on the pressure you put on the handles
- As you pull down the handles, water is squeezed from the pulp & the plate compacts the pulp into a solid block
- Remove block from central plate to dry
- The best place to dry the paper logs is on a grid in a greenhouse
- Note: Be careful with with the handles, not to catch your finger in them, it will sting a bit!
- Also it is a good idea to wear rubber gloves while making the briquettes as the ink will have run from the newspapers
