Planting Time
- Plant all year round, avoiding frozen ground
Positioning Trees
- Choose a sunny location with room for crown to spread
- Soil: Fertile, well-drained – clay, light or sandy
- Thrives in acidic, neutral, or alkaline soils
- Plant approx. 4m from hard surfaces
- Hold plant at ground level when planting and backfill with soil
- Ensure tree is upright and firm soil around roots
- Level soil around base after planting
After Care
- Soak the pot for 10 minutes before planting
- Water thoroughly after planting and during dry weather
- Keep base weed-free to promote growth
- Weed regularly, especially to control bindweed
- Avoid grass growth near the trunk
- Avoid strimming at the base of the tree
- Prune annually to remove dead wood and shape canopy
