Planting Time

  • Plant all year round, avoiding frozen ground

Positioning Trees

  • Choose a sunny location with room for crown to spread
  • Soil: Fertile, well-drained – clay, light or sandy
  • Thrives in acidic, neutral, or alkaline soils
  • Plant approx. 4m from hard surfaces
  • Hold plant at ground level when planting and backfill with soil
  • Ensure tree is upright and firm soil around roots
  • Level soil around base after planting

After Care

  • Soak the pot for 10 minutes before planting
  • Water thoroughly after planting and during dry weather
  • Keep base weed-free to promote growth
  • Weed regularly, especially to control bindweed
  • Avoid grass growth near the trunk
  • Avoid strimming at the base of the tree
  • Prune annually to remove dead wood and shape canopy
