Chionodoxa Bulbs - How to Sow
- See our blog on how to sow and care for bulbs.
- Choose a sunny or partially shaded planting location.
- To prepare planting hole:
- Use a garden hand trowel, dibber or bulb planter.
- Depth: Approximately 5cm - 8cm deep.
- Spacing: 5cm - 8cm apart.
- Soil: Fertile, well-drained soil. Improve heavy soils with horticultural grit or compost if necessary.
- Plant bulbs with the pointed end facing upwards.
- Cover with soil and firm gently.
- Water thoroughly after planting.
- Feed with poultry manure or a balanced fertiliser once foliage appears.
- Allow foliage to die back naturally after flowering so the bulbs store energy for the following season.
- Leave bulbs undisturbed to naturalise and enjoy increasingly colourful spring displays.
