Red Clover Seeds - Sowing Instructions
- Best to sow between March & October
- Can be sown directly outside
- Always better to start seeds in seed trays & then transplant when large enough
- Sow thinly, 1cm deep
- Lightly cover with compost
- Keep moist until germination
- Can be thinned to 2.5cm between plants
- Be sure to harvest green manure before flowers (and therefore seeds) develop
- Harvest by digging into ground as green manure roots contain beneficial nitrogen
- They release this nitrogen into the soil as they breakdown
- Once dug in, the area can be sown with vegetable plants or seeds
