Planting Time

• Suitable for planting all year round
• Avoid planting during frosty conditions or when the ground is frozen

Positioning Trees

• Prefers partial shade but can also tolerate full sun, especially in cooler climates
• Happy in woodland settings or as part of a mixed border
• Best grown in well-drained, fertile soils, either acidic or neutral
• Can be planted in light or heavy clay soils

When Planting

• Ensure the root ball sits at ground level and backfill with soil
• Make sure the tree is planted straight and compact the soil gently around the roots
• Level the soil around the base of the tree to ensure stability

After Care

• Water thoroughly after planting, and soak the root ball for 10 minutes before planting if it's in a pot
• Water again after planting and ensure the soil stays moist during dry spells (water every 2-3 days if necessary)
• Keep the area around the base of the tree free from grass and weeds, which can compete for nutrients and space
• Avoid strimming or mowing around the base of the tree to prevent damage to the trunk and encourage strong growth
