Crocosmia Bulbs - How to Sow

  • It is always best to start your bulbs indoors, in a greenhouse or polytunnel
  • Grow in large pots (5L or bigger)
  • Once shoots are 10cm in height you can move out into the garden
  • Choose a sunny location
  • Prepare soil before planting. Loosen soil & add farm yard manure
  • Depth: Sow each bulb 3 times their size in depth (10cm deep)
  • Plant with pointed end pointing upwards
  • Spacing: 10cm apart
  • Cover with soil & water well
  • Divide clumps every 3 years to encourage better flowering
