Cyclamen Corms - Uses

  • Provides beautiful colour from late summer into autumn.
  • Ideal for woodland gardens, shaded borders and beneath deciduous trees.
  • Perfect for rockeries, raised beds and containers.
  • Excellent for naturalising in sheltered garden areas.
  • Plant in groups to create attractive carpets of flowers.
  • Beautiful ornamental foliage provides interest throughout winter.
  • Suitable for cottage gardens and shaded pathways.
  • Returns reliably every year, gradually forming larger flowering colonies.

Cyclamen Corms - How to Sow

  • See our blog on how to sow and care for bulbs.
  • Choose a partially shaded or shaded planting location.
  • To prepare planting hole:
  • Use a garden hand trowel or hand fork.
  • Depth: Plant tubers approximately 3cm - 5cm below the soil surface.
  • Spacing: 10cm - 15cm apart.
  • Soil: Fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil. Improve heavy soils with compost or leaf mould before planting.
  • Plant tubers with the slightly rounded side facing down and the growing points facing upwards.
  • Cover gently with soil and firm lightly.
  • Water after planting if conditions are dry.
  • Feed with poultry manure or a balanced fertiliser during active growth.
  • Allow foliage to die back naturally in late spring before the bulbs become dormant.
  • Leave tubers undisturbed to establish and produce increasingly impressive displays each year.
