Daffodil Bulbs - How to Sow

Select your preferred location & planting style
Sowing time: Plant in Autumn before ground freezes
Sowing depth: Depth = 3 times to size of the bulb
Sow with pointed end pointing upwards
Cover with soil and water well
Spacing of bulbs:
- Mixed planting: 35 bulbs per m²
- Full cover: 100 bulbs per m²

These little daffs are great. They stand up to the strong winds we get here near the coast and bloom for a long time. I am now busy planting them under a hedge where they can be seen from the kitchen window in Spring. This is my first order from the garden shop and the parcel arrived very quickly by Fastway couriers and was well packed. I like the website, there is lots to see there. My only gripe, as mentioned by another reviewer, is that the planting instructions are not attached to the bag of bulbs. I had to go and check on the website before I started planting, but not too much of a problem!

This little daff was featured this week on Gardener's World and recommended by the daff expert at Hever Castle as being excellent container bulb. Mine are going over now but will be ordering more as they certainly stand up to winter gales better than their long-stemmed cousins.

Ordered these last autumn and they are just coming into flower. Living in a very windy spot these little daffs hunker down and are producing some lovely blooms. Will be ordering more for autumn planting.
