Daffodil Bulbs - How to Sow

- Choose a sunny or partially shaded planting location.
- To prepare planting hole:
- Use a garden hand trowel, dibber or bulb planter.
- Depth: Approximately 10cm - 15cm deep.
- Spacing: 10cm - 15cm apart.
- Soil: Fertile, well-drained soil. Improve heavy soils with horticultural grit or sand where drainage is poor.
- Plant bulbs with the pointed end facing upwards.
- Cover with soil and firm gently.
- Water thoroughly after planting.
- Feed with poultry manure or a balanced bulb fertiliser as foliage begins to emerge.
- Allow the leaves to die back naturally after flowering so the bulbs can store energy for the following season.
- Leave bulbs undisturbed to naturalise and provide increasingly impressive displays each spring.
