Dinnerplate Dahlia Bulbs - How to Grow
- Location: Full sun or partial shade
- Soil: Avoid damp soils
- When to Sow: Between Feb & May
- Method: Soak the bulbs in water just before planting
- Depth: Sow each bulb 3 times the size of the bulbs deep
- Make sure pointed end is pointing upwards
- Feeding: Feed when foliage appears
- Feed with nitrogen based fertiliser first
- Feed with potassium from July
- Plants will need staking
- When foliage dies & turns yellow, cut back the foliage
- Remember to lift & store your Dahlia bulbs over the Winter months
- Before the frost comes
- Lift bulbs & clean off soil
- Store bulbs in a warm, ventilated location
