Dinnerplate Dahlia Bulbs - How to Grow
- Dahlias can be grown in full sun or partial shade
- Avoid damp soils
- Best time to sow: Between Feb & May
- We recommend to soak the bulbs in water just before planting
- Soak for 10 minutes
- Depth: Sow each bulb 3 times the size of the bulbs deep
- Make sure pointed end is pointing upwards
- Feed when foliage appears
- Feed with nitrogen based fertiliser first
- Then, from July onwards, feed with potassium based fertiliser
- When foliage dies & turns yellow, cut back the foliage
- Remember to lift & store your Dahlia bulbs over the Winter months
- Before the frost comes
- Lift bulbs & clean off soil
- Store bulbs in a warm, ventilated location
