Growing Vegetables - Tips & Advice

Getting Started

  • Soak your pellets in warm water until they have expanded fully
  • Fill the fibre pots with compost
  • Position seeds in pot & lightly cover with soil - press down lightly

Watering

  • Keep compost moist at all times
  • Ideally water 2 or 3 times a week

Feeding

  • Start feeding once the seedlings are 2 weeks old
  • Apply a liquid feed to the seedlings each time you water

Transplanting

  • The fibre pots makes transplanting easy
  • Start transplanting seedlings when they are large enough
  • Generally mid April is a good time to start
  • Once your seedlings are large enough to handle & the weather is suitably warm
  • Transplant into prepared vegetable plot
  • Spacing, depth & specific soil conditions vary depending on vegetable
