Gladioli Bulbs - How to Sow
- Location: Gladioli prefer a sunny spot
- Soil: Fertile & good drainage
- Add sand, grit or RHS bulb starter to base of planting hole for added drainage
- When to sow: Plant bulbs in late Spring
- Sowing depth: Depth = 3 times to size of the bulb
- Avoid using high nitrogen based fertiliser
- Divide bulb clumps every 4 to 5 years
- May need to be covered in very frosty conditions
- Otherwise little or no maintenance required
- Stake tall Gladioli in late Summer
