Muscari Bulbs - Uses
- Muscari Bulbs create neat carpets of blue in borders, rockeries, pots and informal garden planting.
- Use the blue flower spikes as a low carpet beneath later-flowering tulips and narcissus.
- They are particularly effective under deciduous shrubs and along the edges of paths or beds.
- Plant beside miniature daffodils, crocuses and early tulips for contrasting spring colour.
- Naturalise Muscari Bulbs in groups so the display becomes fuller and more colourful over time.
Muscari Bulbs - How to Sow
- Plant in full sun or partial shade in soil that is fertile enough for spring growth and drains well.
- Plant Muscari bulbs approximately 8-10cm deep and around 8cm apart.
- Set bulbs with the pointed end facing upwards, cover with soil and water well.
- For the best effect, plant several bulbs together in groups or short drifts.
- Allow foliage to die back naturally after flowering.
- Established Muscari Bulbs can be divided during dormancy when clumps become crowded.
