Green Manure Seeds - Sowing Instructions
- Can be used any time of the year
- Incorporate in your yearly rotation plan
- Best sown in Autumn for Winter cover of vegetable plot
- Use on vegetable plot, when area is to be idle for at least 2 months
- Sow seeds by hand, rake into soil and water well
- Harvest: Be sure to harvest green manure before flowers (and therefore seeds) develop
- Harvest by digging into ground as green manure roots contain beneficial nitrogen
- They release this nitrogen to the soil as they breakdown
- Once dug in, the area can be sown with vegetable plants or seeds
