Hedgehog Home - Tips & Advice
- Fill the inside of the house with moss & straw to create the perfect nesting site for hedgehogs
- Ideally, position the house in a secluded area of your garden
- If your garden is well enclosed it is advised that you make a small hole in your boundary
- Cut a circular hole approx. the diameter of a CD in the bottom of the fence
- This will allow hedgehogs to wander in and out and to forage for food
- Hedgehogs are nocturnal & can travel 1.5Km per night in the hunt for food
- Hedgehog numbers have been on the decline in recent years
- By providing a safe home & places to forage, we can help rectify this
- Avoid using slug pellets in your garden as these can kill hedgehogs
