- Happy in most soils

- Plant with: Lobelias, Rudbeckias, Cannas, Crocosmia & Red Hot Pokers
- Grow in full sun or semi shade
- Often grown for cut flowers
- Add colour to garden in Autumn
- Use as in-filler plants between low shrubs

Helenium Bulbs - How to Grow
- Helenium prefers a sunny location
- Sowing time: Plant in Spring, between Feb & May
- Ideally, soak the bulbs in water just before planting
- Sowing depth: Depth = 3 times to size of the bulb
- Sow with pointed end pointing upwards
- Ideally grow in good loam soil
- Add manure or John Innes compost to improve poor soils
- Feed with nitrogen based fertiliser first
- Then, from July on feed with potassium based fertiliser
- Dead head to encourage better flowering
