Bulk bags & large orders are shipped via pallet couriers on a rigid lorry
Delivery is to kerbside only
If road access to your site is tight, then please advise us before purchasing
Please Note: We cannot guarantee next day delivery on pallet deliveries
Also, we cannot guarantee delivery on a specific day (Please allow 3-5 working days for delivery)
It's always best to order well in advance to avoid disappointment
Cancellation of pallets when items are already in transit will incur a 40 euro per pallet cancellation fee (To cover return delivery costs)
Where pallet delivery can not be made due to site access, a 40 euro per pallet cancellation fee will apply (To cover return delivery costs)
Re-rooting of a pallet where incorrect delivery address details have been given, a 40 euro per pallet cancellation fee will apply (To cover return delivery costs)
Return of pallets when items are already delivered will incur a 60 euro per pallet cancellation fee (To cover return delivery costs)

Horticultural Sand - Uses

Mix With Compost
- Horticultural sand is mostly mixed with composts to improve drainage & aeration
- Add 20-30 grams per 1 litre of compost
Sowing Seeds & Cuttings
- Ideal for starting seeds & caring for cuttings
- Reduces the risk of damping off & other fungal diseases
- Mix 1 part sand to 3 parts compost
Lawn Dressing
- Use after scarifying & aerating your lawn
- Scatter the sand over the lawn surface & brush in with a soft brush
Capillary Benches
- Ideal for growing benches
- Spread 4 - 6cm layer over the surface of the bench
- Can be used in conjunction with heated cables
- Create the ideal drainage conditions for pots
Breaking Up Heavy Soils
- Large amounts of sand would be required for this task
- Apply 1 shovel per 1m²

This is the second bulk bag of horticultural sand I've ordered this year and the quality is still excellent. Am going to mix it with topsoil in order to create an Irish native wildflower meadow in my urban wildlife garden. Am glad I've ordered from The Garden Shop and thanks again.

I ordered and promptly received my bulk bag of horticultural sand. The sand seems to be of superior quality and I'm thrilled. I've ordered from The Garden Shop before and the quality, as well as their customer service, has always been brilliant. So it's five stars from me. Maybe just one thing: instead of kerbside (pallet) delivery, would it be possible to drop the bulk bag inside people's gardens (e.g. on the garden path) with a small crane, so others can't get near it? Anyway, another job well done and thanks again.
