Aim of Course
- Learn all about growing Winter salad leaves in Ireland
- Our aim for this course is to help children understand where their food comes from
- To teach them about all the different vegetables and plants to sow
- When is the best time of year to grow each one and what they need to grow
- Sowing seeds is great for sensory development so touching and smelling soils and plants can help with this
- To encourage and state the importance of being outdoors
- To learn to be patient and give them a sense of achievement once the seeds grow
- To help develop social skills in a new environment

- All courses / workshops take place in a covid safe environment
- Note: All courses, activities & workshops must be booked online in advance
Course Content
- Introduction
- Setting up the work area, using our raised beds and polytunnel
- Preparing the seeds for planting
- Planting the seeds such as Ruby Chard, Corn Salad, Winter Lettuce, Kale, Leaf Beat (Spinach)
- Question time
- Our expert staff will be on hand to give support & answer questions throughout the workshop
