Hyacinth Bulbs - Uses
- Fragrant Hyacinth Bulbs are well suited to beds, borders, patio pots and spring containers.
- The cool ice-blue colour is especially effective beside white or pale pink spring flowers.
- Plant near paths, entrances or seating areas where their rich perfume can be enjoyed.
- Use in small groups for blocks of colour or mix with contrasting tulips, daffodils and muscari.
- Hyacinth Bulbs also make attractive seasonal displays in pots and bowls.
Hyacinth Bulbs - How to Sow
- Choose a sunny or partially shaded location with fertile, well-drained soil.
- Plant bulbs approximately 10-15cm deep and 10-15cm apart.
- Place each Hyacinth bulb with the pointed end facing upwards.
- Cover with soil and water thoroughly after planting.
- For containers, use a free-draining compost and keep pots evenly moist while growing.
- After flowering, remove faded flower spikes but allow Hyacinth Bulbs foliage to die back naturally.
