Mixed Iris Rhizomes - How to Grow
- Choose a location for your Iris rhizomes - They need a lot of sunlight
- Sowing time: Plant in Autumn or Spring
- Sowing depth: Plant rhizomes just below the soil surface
- Plant with compost, cover with soil & water in well
- Feed when foliage appears
- After flowering, cut off the flowering stem to encourage a second bloom
- Old foliage can be cut back in late Autumn or the following Spring
- Every 2 to 5 years the clumps should be divided to encourage better flowering
- Note: Spring planted Iris rhizomes may not bloom in first Summer
