Large Blue Crocus Bulbs 10 Pack

Bring a welcome splash of colour to the garden after winter with these Large Blue Crocus Bulbs. Crocuses are among the earliest spring flowering bulbs, producing attractive blue flowers that provide valuable early-season colour in the garden.

The larger bulbs are ideal for creating a strong display when planted in groups. This 10 pack is suitable for borders, lawns, rockeries, containers and areas beneath deciduous trees and shrubs.

  • Bulb Size: Large bulbs
  • Pack Size: 10 bulbs

  • Flowering Period: Early spring
  • Type: Spring flowering bulb
  • Uses: Borders, lawns, rockeries, containers and naturalising

Where to Plant

Plant crocus bulbs in a sunny or lightly shaded position with well-drained soil. They are particularly effective when planted in groups at the front of borders, in rockeries or beneath deciduous trees and shrubs.

Crocuses can also be naturalised through lawns and grassed areas. Their compact growth makes them particularly useful for creating informal carpets of spring colour.

How to Plant

Plant crocus bulbs in autumn, before the ground becomes too cold. Plant with the pointed end facing upwards at approximately 5 to 8cm deep and around 5 to 8cm apart.

For a natural-looking display, plant bulbs in small groups rather than straight rows. Crocuses also perform well in containers when planted in good-quality, free-draining bulb compost.

Growing and Care

Water after planting if the soil is dry. Once established, crocuses require relatively little maintenance and can return year after year in suitable conditions.

After flowering, allow the foliage to remain until it has naturally yellowed and died back. This allows the leaves to replenish the bulb's energy reserves for the following season.

If planted in a lawn, delay mowing until the foliage has had sufficient time to die back naturally.

Planting Ideas

Combine blue crocuses with snowdrops, daffodils and other early spring bulbs for a varied seasonal display. They are also excellent for planting around trees, along pathways, at the front of borders and in patio containers.
