Positioning Lemon Trees
- Lemon trees like slightly acidic soils & good, rich compost
- Best to grow in full sun, at least 6 hours of sun each day
- To ensure a good harvest, grow in greenhouses
- Lemons are happiest at temps between 20 & 30°C
- You can also grow them in pots & move outside in Summer
- Provide good drainage
- Avoid shaded, exposed areas & frost pockets
- South east facing slope is best
After Care
- Water plants when they arrive
- Water again after planting
- Feed in Spring & throughout the Summer months
- If dry weather persists, water every 2 days
Harvest
- Lemons are harvested in Summer
- If the fruits are vibrant yellow they should be ready
- Gently squeeze the fruits and if a little tender, then you can harvest
