Planting Time
- Can be planted at any time of the year
- Avoid planting during hard frost or when the ground is frozen
Positioning Trees
- Choose a spot where the tree can grow upright and tall
- Soil: Fertile, well-drained, light or heavy clay
- Grows well in acidic, neutral, or alkaline soils
- When planting, hold tree at ground level and backfill with topsoil
- Ensure tree is straight and firm soil around root ball
- Level soil around base once planted
After Care
- Soak the rootball in water for around 10 minutes before planting
- Water thoroughly after planting
- In dry conditions, water every 2 days until established
- Keep base of tree free from weeds, especially bindweed
- Prevent grass from growing directly around the trunk
- Avoid strimming at the base to prevent damage
