Daffodil Bulbs - How to Sow

- Choose a sunny or partially shaded planting location.
- To prepare planting hole:
- Use a garden hand trowel, dibber or bulb planter.
- Depth: Approximately 8cm - 10cm deep.
- Spacing: 8cm - 10cm apart.
- Soil: Fertile, well-drained soil. Improve heavy or poorly drained soils with horticultural grit or sand before planting.
- Plant bulbs with the pointed end facing upwards.
- Cover with soil and firm gently.
- Water thoroughly after planting.
- Feed with poultry manure or a balanced bulb fertiliser once new foliage appears.
- Allow foliage to die back naturally after flowering so the bulbs can store energy for next year's blooms.
- Leave bulbs undisturbed to naturalise and create increasingly colourful spring displays.
