- Use a garden hand trowel, dibber or bulb planter.
- Depth: Approximately 10cm - 15cm deep.
- Spacing: 10cm - 15cm apart.
- Soil: Fertile, well-drained soil. Improve heavy or waterlogged soils with horticultural grit or sand before planting.
- Plant bulbs with the pointed end facing upwards.
- Cover with soil and firm gently.
- Water thoroughly after planting.
- Feed with poultry manure or a balanced bulb fertiliser once foliage begins to emerge.
- Allow foliage to die back naturally after flowering to restore energy to the bulbs for next season.
- Leave bulbs undisturbed to naturalise and provide increasingly impressive displays each spring.
