Peony Rhizomes - How to Grow
- Choose a location
- A sunny, sheltered spot
- Deep, fertile soil that is well drained
- Sowing time: Best when sown in Autumn or Early Spring
- Sowing depth: Plant rhizomes so that they are just at the soil surface
- Spacing: 3ft apart
- Then cover with soil & water in
- Feed every 2 to 3 weeks
- Remove flower heads as they fade
- Can lift & divide in Spring

- A Rhizome is similar to a bulb in that it is a dormant growing point of a plant
- Also Known as 'Roots'
- Peonies will not flower in their first year if planted too late in Spring
