This product is delivered by pallet due to its size and weight.
Delivery is kerbside only. The delivery driver will deliver the pallet to the nearest accessible point at the roadside or property entrance.
The driver is not able to carry the pallet into your garden, house, garage or final planting position.
Please ensure there is suitable vehicle and pallet access to the delivery address.
The delivery location must have a firm, accessible surface suitable for a pallet delivery.
If the olive is supplied already potted into the bourbon barrel, the completed planter will be considerably heavier. Customers must arrange any movement from the kerbside to the final position themselves.
Please check that there are no access restrictions such as narrow lanes, steep driveways, steps, gates or other obstacles that would prevent safe pallet delivery.

Planting Time

Olive trees can be planted into containers throughout the growing season when conditions are suitable.
Place the bourbon half barrel in its final position before planting as it will become very heavy once filled.
Ensure the barrel has suitable drainage holes before adding compost.
Use the supplied compost to fill around the olive rootball, leaving a small gap below the rim for watering.
Plant at the same depth as the existing rootball and avoid burying the stem.
Water thoroughly after planting to help settle the compost around the roots.

After Care

Position the olive in full sun or a bright sheltered position for the best growth.
Water regularly while establishing, allowing the compost to partially dry between waterings.
Avoid allowing the compost to remain constantly wet as olives require good drainage.
Feed during spring and summer with a suitable olive or Mediterranean plant fertiliser.
Prune lightly in spring or after flowering to maintain the desired shape and remove unwanted growth.
Protect the container and plant from prolonged severe frost and cold winds.
Raise the barrel slightly from the ground if necessary to help excess water drain freely.
Monitor moisture levels more closely during prolonged dry or hot weather.
