Ranunculus Bulbs - Uses
- Low growing plants are suited to the front of borders
- Can also be grown in pots or baskets
- Mixed colours of yellows, reds & oranges makes for wonderful floaral displays
- Best when planted in blocks or long drifts
- Suitable for cut flowers
- Ranunculus companion plants include Stipa grasses, Tree Peonies, Marigolds, Poppies, Iberis & Dianthus
Ranunculus Bulbs - How to Sow
- Can be sown in Spring or Autumn
- Choose a sunny spot
- Enrich the soil with John Innes compost
- Dig hole approx. 2" deep
- If ground is damp, add RHS bulb starter to the base of each planting hole
- Space bulbs 25cm apart
- Water well after planting
- Feed in Spring
- Use as cut flowers or deadhead to encourage more blooms
- In Autumn, allow the plants to die back
- This will ensure strong growth next Spring
