Square Raised Bed - Square Foot Gardening

• This is a method of gardening to maximise use of space & maximise yields
• There are a number of rules that apply to square foot gardening
  • Divide plots in 1ft x 1ft sections
    • This can be done using string-line or bamboo canes
  • Use a soil mix of vermiculite, peat moss & compost
    • ⅓ Vermiculite
    • ⅓ Peat Moss
    • ⅓ Compost
  • Use climbing frames to maximise vertical space
  • Use this simple planting guide
    • Small veg & herbs: Plant 16 per section at 3" spacing (7.5cm)
    • Medium veg & herbs: Plant 9 per section at 4" spacing (10.5cm)
    • Large veg: Plant 4 per section at 6" spacing (15cm)
    • Extra-large veg: Plant 1 per section at 12" spacing (30cm)

Square Raised Bed - How to Assemble

• Full instructions available from the downloads tab
• Requires drill to assemble
• Using a drill, fix the corner posts provided to each end of two timber sections
  • Use one post for each end
• Next, fix the remain 2 sections square bed shape
• Ensure that the sections are at a right angle & level with each other
• Fill beds with soil mix (200 litres)
