Sulphate of Potash - Uses

  • This is a straight Potassium based fertiliser
  • Potassium is essential for the following things
    • Flower development
    • Fruit development
    • Disease resistance in all plants
  • Ideal for fruiting bushes, fruit trees, flowering plants, tomatoes & vegetables

Sulphate of Potash - Advantages

  • Can be used in conjunction with soil test kit to provide the exact soil nutrient balance required for growing
  • Does not contain Nitrogen, therefore will promote fruits & flowers without also leading to unnecessary foliage growth

Sulphate of Potash - Application

  • Scatter 35g/m2 evenly on the soil surface
  • 35g is roughly equal to one handful
  • Lightly work into soil with a garden rake
  • Repeat every 4 - 6 weeks over the growing season
  • Avoid touching the plants stem or roots directly with the fertiliser
  • Add to hanging basket soil mix
  • Apply to ornamental shrubs & herbaceous plants prior to sowing
  • Apply to existing plants to encourage flowering

Sulphate of Potash - Notes

  • Deficiency symptoms include the following
    • Older leaves turn dull grey colour
    • Midrib of leaf stays green longest
    • Leaf edge turns yellow / scorched appearance
