Unscrew the waterproof cover
Slide out the battery box (directly below the two dials)
Insert batteries '-' end pointing towards the spring
Slide battery box back in & add water proof cover

Very handy piece of equipment. Make sure you install fresh batteries. I had an issue (entirely of my own doing) but it was sorted out quickly and without any hassle by John. Excellent customer service by The garden shop.ie

This is my second one of these (frost damaged the first one) and I find them very useful and easy to use. I use it to supply my hens with fresh water every 6 hours. [STAFF NOTE] As with the likes of outdoor taps and pipes, it's a good idea to insulate or lag the timer during the Winter to protect it. Thanks for the feedback
