Returns Policy
At The Garden Shop, we want you to be happy with your purchase. This policy is in line with your rights under Irish and EU consumer law.
Change of Mind Returns
- If you purchase online, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods under the Consumer Rights Directive.
- To be eligible for a return:
- Items must be unused, in their original packaging and in resaleable condition.
- Proof of purchase is required.
- Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is faulty or incorrect.
Please note:
• We do not accept returns on perishable goods including plants, bulbs, seeds, compost, turf, cut flowers or other living products unless they are faulty on arrival.
• Dropship or Assembled items cannot be returned unless faulty.
Once returned goods are received and inspected, refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 14 days.
Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Items
- Please inspect your order upon delivery.If your item arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery by email, including photographs where possible.
- Where a product is confirmed to be faulty, we will offer a repair, replacement or refund in accordance with Irish consumer law.
- Normal wear and tear, misuse, neglect, incorrect assembly, improper storage or failure to follow care instructions are not considered faults.
Plants & Living Products Guarantee
- Plants are living products and require proper care, watering, feeding and protection from weather conditions.
- We guarantee that plants supplied are healthy and in good condition at the time of sale.
- Any issues with plant quality or condition must be reported within:
- 48 hours of delivery for online orders
- 7 days from purchase for in-store purchases
- Claims made after these periods cannot be accepted due to the nature of living products and factors outside our control.
- Refunds or replacements for plants will not be provided for:
- Frost damage
- Overwatering or underwatering
- Pest damage after purchase
- Incorrect planting conditions
- Neglect or lack of care
- Photographic evidence may be requested for all plant-related claims.
Non-Returnable Items
- The following items are non-returnable unless faulty:
- Plants, bulbs, seeds and living products
- Compost, bark, aggregates and tonne bags
- Perishable goods
- Gift cards
- Clearance or reduced items
- Custom or made-to-order products
- Assembled products
Large & Heavy Deliveries
- For pallet deliveries, tonne bags and oversized items:
- Delivery charges are non-refundable once dispatch has taken place.
- Customers must ensure suitable access for delivery vehicles.
- Failed delivery attempts due to access issues may incur additional charges.
Refund Processing
- Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method.
- Please allow 5–10 working days for funds to appear depending on your bank or payment provider.
