Ginkgo Tree - Characteristics
- Because of its old genetic make up, the Ginkgo is a very unique tree
- Foliage: Fan shaped with two lobes along leaf apex
- Known as the Maidenhair Tree because it's foliage closely resembles the Maidenhair Fern
- Prehistoric tree has the same characteristics now has it had when dinosaurs roamed the earth
- Excellent Autumn colour
- Habit: Narrow, upright tree that spreads out as it matures
- Deciduous tree with attractive, greyish bark
- Mature size: 12m in height & 8m spread
- If allowed to grow to full maturity
- Can be maintained at smaller size either
- Excellent choice for small gardens, courtyards & front gardens
- Growth rate: Moderate
- Frost hardy

Ginkgo Tree - Planting Instructions
Planting Time
- Potted plants can be planted all year round
- Avoid frosty conditions, where the ground is frozen
- Small tree, will take several years to mature
Positioning Trees
- Requires a lot of sunlight
- Position in a spot where the tree can grow & spread out
- Soil: Fertile, well drained, light or heavy clay
- Happy in acidic or neutral to alkaline soils
- When planting, hold plants at ground level & back fill the top soil
- Ensure each plant is straight & soil is compacted in around it's root ball
- Level off the soil around the plants
After Care
- Soak pot in water for approx. 10 minutes before planting
- If dry weather persists, water every 2 days
- Weeding is also essential - especially bind weed which can quickly smoother a young tree
- Keep grass growth away from the base of trees to ensure a faster growth rate
- Avoid strimming around the base of trees
Note: We don't ship plants on Fridays due to the extended period they would remain without light & water

- Also, we cannot guarantee delivery on a specific day (Please allow 1-3 days for delivery)
- It's always best to order well in advance to avoid disappointment
- Cancellation of pallets when items are already in transit will incur a 40 euro per pallet cancellation fee (To cover return delivery costs)
