- Sow smaller areas around your meadow
- This will give the yellow rattle better establishment
- Note: While Yellow Rattle restricts grass growth & germination it will not prevent Scutch grass
- Scarify & remove grass cuttings, moss & thatch
- Seed can be sown along with other wildflowers & our wildflower seed mixes
- Seed requires a period of cold weather to germinate (approx. 4 months)
- If you sow in spring, you will first need to mimic this cold period by places seed in fridge for 4 weeks
Yellow Rattle Seeds - Plant Details
- Native Irish plant
- Height: 30cm
- Flower: Drooping trumpets in yellow
- Flowering Time: All throughout the Summer
- Maintenance Level: No maintenance needed

- How it works:
- Yellow Rattle develops root network

- Leading to a 60% drop off in growth
Yellow Rattle Seeds - Uses
- Add to wildflower mix

- The roots of Yellow Rattle seek out grass roots & strangle them

- The result is that your wildflowers can grow without being smothered in grass
- Use in gap creation - If your meadow is covered in grass, create gaps / patches of bare soil throughout the meadow & re-seed with Yellow Rattle
- Ideal for all wildflower mixes
- Ideal for use on very fertile soils
- Use to reduce maintenance & weeding of your meadow
