Growing Vegetables - Tips & Advice
Getting Started
- Soak your pellets in warm water until they have expanded fully
- Fill pots with compost
- Position seeds in pot & lightly cover with soil
Watering
- Keep compost moist at all times
- Ideally water 2 or 3 times a week
- Just add enough water to moisten the soil
- Do not allow the soil get overly wet
Feeding
- Start feeding once the seedlings are 2 weeks old
- Apply a liquid feed to the seedlings each time you water
Transplanting
- The fibre pots makes transplanting easy
- Start transplanting seedlings when they are large enough
- Generally mid April is a good time to start
- Once your seedlings are large enough to handle & the weather is suitably warm
- Transplant into prepared vegetable plot
- Spacing, depth & specific soil conditions vary depending on vegetable
